Web Services Architect and Programmer Analyst
Summary
Mr. Pinson specializes in architecture for large-scale web-based and multimedia
knowledge-management systems and services. He builds information systems that
are usable, secure, maintainable, and extendable. His current focus is on
solutions that address content management, workflow and process automation,
roles-based security, personalization, business intelligence, content syndication,
and Section 508 usability. He is an advocate of open-source solutions wherever
possible and appropriate.
His experience comes from a lifelong desire to learn, from involvement in
the information industry since 1987, and from a formal background in instructional
technologies and geographic information systems. He holds a Masters degree
in Training and Learning Technologies from the University of New Mexico. He
is founder of the New Mexico Macromedia Users group, and participates actively
in the local industry community. In 1996 he founded Indepth Learning, a web-architecture
consultancy, design, and hosting service, where he continues work today.

- New Mexico Judicial Performance Commission Website. Project webmaster and
technical lead. Implement and maintain an online version of the hard-copy
judge-recommendation report at www.nmjpec.org. Fully searchable and database
enabled. Site is designed with public usability in mind using section 508
guidelines.
- New Mexico Courts Information Website, for the New Mexico Administrative
Office of the Courts. Project webmaster and technical lead. Design, build,
host, and maintain the large-scale www.nmcourtsinfo.org website. Implemented
a Content Management System and web streaming media server, in Zope, for use
by the Courts. Three-year ongoing maintenance contract for web services. Includes
server co-location management, database backend, streaming Windows Media,
Quicktime, and Flash content. Site is designed with public usability in mind
using section 508 guidelines.
- Kairos Productions Website. Web-based group survey and statistical analysis
reporting for corporate mergers. Webmaster and developer. Site developed in
Macromedia Cold Fusion. Online at www.merlinindex.com.
- Learning Mangement System Consultant; Tier, California Child Support Enforcement
Training Project. Provide research services for selection of a Learning Management
System for the training component of this project.
- Virtual web hosting for a variety of clients. Use open-source FreeBSD /
Linux UNIX, Apache and CGI technology.
- Web Architect. Menla Corporation. Technology lead. Design and implementation
of high-demand Windows 2000 web-server cluster. Featured technologies include
integration of IWAPPS search technology, database integration, PERL and Python
integration, the WebDAV shared development environment, and Zope based management.

- Geographer; U. S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Division, Massachusetts
Office, 1989 - 1994. Mr. Pinson was systems administrator and lead programmer
for the Massachusetts Bridge Scour Project, and developed a multimedia remote-sensing
system used to monitor river-channel instability at highway bridges in Massachusetts.
Mr. Pinson also trained personnel in harsh-environment field computing, stream
assessment, and served as GIS analyst and scientific visualization specialist.
