Summary

Mr. Pinson specializes in architecture for large-scale web-based and multimedia knowledge-management systems and services. He builds information systems that are usable, secure, maintainable, and extendable. His current focus is on solutions that address content management, workflow and process automation, roles-based security, personalization, business intelligence, content syndication, and Section 508 usability. He is an advocate of open-source solutions wherever possible and appropriate.

His experience comes from a lifelong desire to learn, from involvement in the information industry since 1987, and from a formal background in instructional technologies and geographic information systems. He holds a Masters degree in Training and Learning Technologies from the University of New Mexico. He is founder of the New Mexico Macromedia Users group, and participates actively in the local industry community. In 1996 he founded Indepth Learning, a web-architecture consultancy, design, and hosting service, where he continues work today.

  • New Mexico Courts Information Website, for the New Mexico Administrative Office of the Courts. Project webmaster and technical lead. Design, build, host, and maintain the large-scale www.nmcourtsinfo.org website. Implemented a Content Management System and web streaming media server, in Zope, for use by the Courts. Three-year ongoing maintenance contract for web services. Includes server co-location management, database backend, streaming Windows Media, Quicktime, and Flash content. Site is designed with public usability in mind using section 508 guidelines.

Mr. Pinson was systems administrator and lead programmer for the Massachusetts Bridge Scour Project, and developed a multimedia remote-sensing system used to monitor river-channel instability at highway bridges in Massachusetts. Mr. Pinson also trained personnel in harsh-environment field computing, stream assessment, and served as GIS analyst and scientific visualization specialist.
